Year of Establishment: 2010
St. Mira’s Inclusive Convent is a social inclusion initiative founded as part of a non-profit educational foundation established in the year 2004 under the aegis of Mr. S. Chandrashekar and Dr. B. K. Kalavathi. The school was started in 2010 in the remote village of Sujjlur, Malavalli Taluq, Mandya District, Karnataka, to cater to the educational needs of rural children.
The institution is deeply rooted in the belief that education is a powerful tool for social transformation. It strives to provide quality education that is inclusive, accessible, and sensitive to the diverse learning needs of children.
St. Mira’s Inclusive Convent nurtures students in a caring and supportive environment where academic learning is balanced with emotional, social, and moral development. Equal importance is given to discipline, values, confidence-building, and life skills.
The school promotes inclusive education by encouraging mutual respect, cooperation, and understanding among students from varied backgrounds, ensuring that every child feels valued and empowered.
The institution actively collaborates with parents and the local community, recognizing that education is most effective when families and educators work together. Regular interactions, counselling support, and awareness programs help create a strong support system for the overall well-being of students.
With committed educators and child-centric teaching practices, the school aims to prepare students to become responsible, confident, and socially aware individuals capable of contributing positively to society.
By integrating modern teaching methodologies with strong foundational values, St. Mira’s Inclusive Convent continues to evolve as a nurturing space where education goes beyond academics—shaping resilient, compassionate, and future-ready individuals prepared to face life with confidence and purpose.
Mission:
Our mission is to work towards educational, social, and environmental reconstruction
for a quality life. We aim to deliver inclusive and value-based education that supports
the holistic development of every child—academically, emotionally, socially, and ethically.
The school is committed to nurturing compassion, integrity, and social responsibility, ensuring students grow into empathetic individuals who respect diversity and contribute positively to their communities.
Vision:
Our vision is to build an inclusive learning community that empowers rural children with
knowledge, skills, and values needed to face future challenges. We aspire to create
confident, independent learners with strong leadership qualities and a lifelong love
for learning.
We envision St. Mira’s Inclusive Convent as a center of excellence where education becomes a pathway to social inclusion, equality, and sustainable development.

St. Mira’s Inclusive Convent was born from the vision to serve the rural heart of Karnataka. Our students are predominantly children of farmers and first‑generation learners — the first in their families to step into a classroom.
We understand the unique challenges faced by agrarian families: seasonal income, migration, and limited access to resources. Our entire academic calendar, support systems, and teaching methods are designed to be flexible and empathetic to these realities. We don’t just teach; we build bridges between traditional livelihoods and modern education.
Our parent organisation and backbone. Anveshana Foundation works at the grassroots for educational, social and environmental reconstruction. Through their support, we provide mid‑day meals, learning materials, and remedial coaching – ensuring that poverty does not become a barrier to dreams.
We partner with corporates for digital literacy, scholarships, and infrastructure. Our initiatives are supported by CSR arms of regional industries
Local farmer cooperatives and women’s self‑help groups are our everyday partners. They help us stay connected to the community and co‑create programs
